My name is Dustin Clapp and I have worked in the food industry since I was 18. For the past 10 years, I have operated here in the valley, working at various restaurants and as a private chef. I spend my summer months on the road, working at a range of places and events. My favorite thing about my job is being able to work with regional ingredients and heirloom varieties in particular. I am a proud member of Local AZ!

Why I Source from Arizona

I grew up in Vermont and upstate New York, deeply valuing fresh, regional and seasonal ingredients. The culture behind seasonally growing and eating more regional foods is something I think is a more sustainable practice for growers, chefs and consumers. My goal is to showcase Arizona farms and businesses to local families. Exhibiting the most seasonal and nutritious ingredients found right here in the valley! All of my sourcing is fulfilled through Arizona’s very own Good Food Finder, an amazing resource that helps introduce locals and newcomers to Arizona’s amazing local food culture.

I have been a private chef for almost 8 years now, cooking in families’ homes and many Airbnbs. Upon arrival, the majority of visitors will immediately hit their closest grocery store to stock the refrigerator. The foods that I see are always pre-made or frozen convenience meals. Defensively they will argue that it saves time, admittedly they will confess to poor quality (and price). Attempting to understand and address this consumer need, I aim to provide what I feel is a better, more sustainable and nutritious alternative.

I aim to provide composed meals that highlight Arizona’s ingredients, showcasing the quality and variety of what local farms have to offer. Pre-portioned and simple to prepare at home, all of the local sourcing, prep work and most of the cooking will have been done for you. This is a great way to experience fresh, truly regional food all while you dine-in.
